IXYS Rectifier Diode Distributor | FRED Fast Recovery
Genuine IXYS DSEI and DSEP fast recovery epitaxial diodes at 600 V / 60 A for freewheeling, rectification and snubbers.
IXYS Rectifier Diode Overview
BeiLuo supplies genuine IXYS fast recovery epitaxial diodes (FRED), the rectifiers designed for fast, soft recovery in high-frequency and high-power circuits. The DSEI and DSEP families offer 600 V and higher ratings at 60 A and above in the TO-247 and TO-268 packages, with planar-passivated chips, low leakage current and a very short recovery time, so they generate little reverse-recovery loss and produce low switching noise. A fast recovery diode is the natural partner for an IGBT or MOSFET in the freewheeling path of an inverter, the antiparallel diode of a switching device, a snubber, or the rectifier of a converter, and it also serves as an anti-saturation or freewheeling diode in inductive loads. The DSEI version emphasizes a short recovery time while the DSEP version trades a slightly longer recovery for softer behavior, so a designer can choose the balance of loss and EMI that suits the circuit. Every device BeiLuo ships is factory-traceable and includes an import declaration, a certificate of origin and a RoHS compliance file. Our FAE team helps you match VRRM, forward current and recovery charge to your converter and pair the diode with the right switch. Selecting a fast recovery diode is mostly about matching the reverse voltage and forward current to your circuit, estimating the recovery loss at your frequency, and choosing the package for your cooling.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I read the IXYS diode table?
Match VRRM to your reverse voltage with margin, use IF(AV) for forward current, and read the Series and Type columns to confirm the recovery behavior. Package then decides the mechanical and thermal fit.
DSEI is the faster recovery, DSEP the softer.
Why is soft recovery important?
Soft recovery limits the current snap at turn-off, cutting reverse-recovery loss, voltage overshoot and EMI. In hard-switched inverters and converters that often removes snubbers and simplifies EMC.
It matters most in high-frequency switching stages.
How do I pair the diode with a switch?
Match the diode's forward current and recovery charge to the switch current and frequency so the freewheeling path does not dominate losses. A fast IGBT deserves a fast diode.
Our FAE team can recommend a matched pair.
What thermal issues should I watch?
Diodes heat under continuous freewheeling, so verify case temperature at full load and confirm the mounting and interface. The isolated package simplifies shared-heatsink builds.
